Are you looking to get the smile of your dreams for less than you ever dreamed possible? And what if you could help a worthy cause at the same time? That may seem impossible, but it’s just the sort of miracle that happens around the holidays.
As part of our ongoing commitment to our community, Rochester Advanced Dentistry has donated a $16,000 smile makeover for the live auction at the Lead in the Holidays event for Leader Dogs for the Blind.
The proceeds from the auction will help Leader Dogs for the Blind continue to provide its services free. This means that while you are getting a smile makeover, you’re also matching up blind individuals with a guide dog that can improve their ability to live independent lives. Talk about two great reasons to smile!

This is a fun and festive event, and a great way to start the holiday season. You can purchase tickets here.
A Detroit Institution That Leads the Way
Leader Dogs for the Blind was founded nearly 80 years ago in 1939 by three Detroit-area Lions Club members. The goal is to empower blind, visually impaired, and deaf-blind individuals to travel independently for a lifetime. The services are all provided free to clients. This includes meals, housing, training, travel, and equipment during and after the guide dog adoption process. Providing free services depends on charitable events like Lead in the Holidays as well as the dedicated support of donors and volunteers.
Leader Dogs for the Blind was first housed in a small farmhouse in Rochester Hills, but it’s grown dramatically, and now it has a downtown training center in Rochester as well.
Leader Dogs for the Blind is a venerable institution, but utilizes new technologies to provide the best services to its clients. Noticing a lack in their candidates, they introduced Accelerated Orientation & Mobility Training. This helped people develop their cane skills so they can be better prepared to work with a guide dog. Using new technology like GPS and ClickandGo maps, they have helped blind individuals feel more comfortable expanding their horizons and move outside their immediate community.
Leader Dogs for the Blind has helped make a difference with its Prison Puppies initiative. This program places puppies with carefully screened prison inmates who raise the puppies for 12-15 months. This program has a 33% higher graduation rate than other programs, and it’s helped improve the lives of inmates.
Because we support this program and all of its positive impact on our community and many others, we have donated a smile makeover to help fund it. This is not the first time we’ve donated to this event. In 2012, we donated a smile makeover that generated so much interest, we decided to donate two.
Your Custom Smile Makeover
A Smile Makeover a great thing to donate to an auction like this because it can be anything the bidders want it to be. A smile makeover is customized for each individual, and may include any cosmetic dentistry procedures that are necessary or desired. It may include:
During the design process, your cosmetic dentist will listen carefully to your cosmetic goals and recommend an approach–or maybe two or three–that will achieve your goals. We recommend treatments that are not only beautiful, they’re healthy, comfortable, and durable.
We are always happy to talk about smile makeovers or our involvement with community events. To learn more about Rochester Advanced Dentistry, please call (248) 656-2020 today for an appointment.
